The prehistory:
The reason for the development of the AMKONaut® was to change the mostly medieval conditions, in the casting cleaning shops of the foundries world-wide, by replacing them with a modern and cost-reducing technology.
Still today, the casting deburring is extremely labor-intensive in almost all foundries!
Today, this is still the reality in most foundries (see above):
Manual fettling with hammer and chisel and simple hand-held or stationary grinding machines.
The total product "cast part" is no longer competitive with products from low-wage countries.
We of Amkonautomation want that even small to medium sized foundries can produce efficientely and therefore be competative in the global market.
